About James Whalen
From his extensive experience in financial services, James has acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to be a strategic contributor to the firm. In his prior roles, he served as the primary liaison between the high net worth clients and the various operations departments that supported the overall private wealth management business. He worked closely with advisors and investment teams to support and implement wealth management strategies for clients.
James’ commitment to his professional development and the financial planning industry led him to enroll in Temple University’s Certified Financial Planning (CFP) program in 2014. Most recently, prior to joining Blue Rock Dravo Bay, he was the Director of Investment and Financial Planning with Northwestern Mutual. In this role, he assisted representatives in integrating investments & financial planning to their business. His deep understanding of financial planning allows him to confidently advise clients on all facets of their financial situation.
Out of the office, James is an avid Philadelphia sports fan. His most memorable moment was being at the Phillies first playoff game in 2010 when Roy Halladay pitched a no-hitter. He is a life-long Philadelphian and currently lives in an area that allows him to walk to many major attractions of the city.
